 Packing an ultimate performance with fully-discrete NFCA modules, the all-new Topping A90 Discrete headphone amplifier is here. Topping has used fully discrete components to redesign its famous NFCA(Nested Feedback Composite Amplifier) module. The A90 Discrete has got four built-in NFCA discrete modules, each of them featuring 39 transistors building up a fully balanced structure. With this discrete component circuitry, the A90 Discrete packs a tremendously powerful output producing about 9800mW of clean, noise-free output ratings at 16Ω of load. Topping A90 Discrete works flawlessly with EXT90 extender adding three XLR connections and one RCA connection. Topping A90 Discrete is designed to be there with high-end desktop chains!!

 

Fully Discrete NFCA Modules

Topping has redesigned the famous NFCA(Nested Feedback Composite Amplifier) module with fully discrete components. The A90 Discrete houses four NFCA-Discrete modules that adopt 39 transistors building up a fully-balanced circuitry producing powerful amplification to the supplied signal. This discrete structure is supported by optimized Voltage Current hybrid feedback architecture along with UHGF(Ultra-High Gain Feedback) technology providing excellent DC and AC performance. With this fully discrete design, the output capability of the A90 Discrete is stronger than ever, providing a tremendously powerful signal amplification.

Both Balanced & Single-Ended Headphone Connections

Topping A90 Discrete houses three headphone output ports. It supports both single-ended as well as balanced headphone connections with a 4-pin XLR and 4.4mm Balanced connections and a 6.35mm single-ended connection. The amplifier is designed to cater to the needs of both low-power requiring as well as demanding headphones. It provides high output voltage, high current, and low output impedance, allowing the users to pair any headphones with the A90 Discrete.

Super-Clean Performance With Low Harmonic Distortion

Topping A90 Discrete is a highly-powerful headphone amplifier. It’s not all about the power with the A90 Discrete. It maintains ultra-low distortion even at its peak load. Talking about the specs here, Topping A90 achieves <0.1% THD+N at 6700mW of peak power at 32Ω of load. Pairing 300Ω headphones, it maintains an ultra-low distortion of <0.00003% at 950mW of load.

Two-Level Gain Settings

Topping A90 Discrete has got two-level gain settings. Low gain is suitable for IEMs and Headphones with high sensitivity while high gain can be used to drive high-power requiring full-sized headphones. In a single-ended connection, the low gain is at 0dB and high gain at 9.5dB. Balanced output connections have 6dB of gain at the low-gain level and 15.5dB of gain at the high-gain level.

Ground Loop Noise Eliminator

The ground loop might introduce some unwanted noise into the output signal that might ruin the experience for users. Topping A90 Discrete has got a GND/LIFT switch to rectify this problem. If you notice Ground Loop noise, simply switch it to Lift and A90 Discrete will eliminate the ground noise for you.

Works as a Pre-AMP too

Topping A90 Discrete works as a pre-amp too. When switched to pre-amp mode, expect a true high-end performance same as its headphone amp mode. It has 20Ω SE and 40Ω balanced output impedance. It can be used as a pre-amp and as a headphone amp simultaneously with no degradation in sound performance.
